Last year my father suffered from 4 strokes and a brain bleed that left him on a ventilator for weeks. I was one of those people you hear about sending work emails from my father’s bedside and leaving the hospital each day to hop on a Zoom call to pretend as if I hadn’t just spent my morning wondering if my father would survive the night.
